Thanks, jbuck. My bro (who is also into coins) was helping sort out a recent acquisition, and I had to explain to him why so many older silver coins have yellowish toning. It is mainly because just about everyone smoked tobacco at one time, and silver, being a very reactive metal, easily picks up airborne pollutants. The yellow is silver sulfide.
