RenaL is correct. It is a $2 euro commemorative which the EU allows for a one year striking. All the EU nations are doing $2 commemoratives now so it can be an interesting collection to build on. This gives each nation a yearly opportunity to commemorate something special in their respective countries and has been a very positive addition to the euro program.

Yes, it is the commemorative and Yes, it is a 2 Euro. I happen to receive it from someone who lives in Torino. I really didn't start out collecting Euros but now I have about half a dozen of them.

I'm one of the closest to Europe in this forum, but I don't have any of their Euro commemoratives yet, only some of the regular ones.
I must start a hunt for them:)

My chase is over on this one. Bigfella has come to rescue, I have purchased one of him and it is on its way.
