I have 10 2003 I series $2 notes in consecutive order. Would they hold any value over face. They look like they came right from the federal reserve. I book that I have says that the I series (Minneapolis) are worth $5 in unc-63. Thank you for your opinion.

... I think all 2003 $2s are I series....

Plus, you can just get a stack of 100 and get the wrapper, too. As for value, maybe in 20-30 years for any significant gain.

Hmmm ok thanks for the info. I got these in a bulk sell and I guess will spend them for what they are.

And risk having the police called on you and some rookie cop carting you off to jail?

Your right I'm always scared spending $2 bills. Thinking maybe that the guy/gal has never seen them before.

What I do when they don't recognize the $2 is take it back and pull out 2 golden dollars and then watch their reaction and question "Don't you have any real money?"

Series 2003 is all I. Series 2003A is from all 12 districts. If you go to enough banks, you will eventually find fresh packs of 2003 in order. There is a certain seller on ebay who tends to sell them in bunches of 5, 10, or 20 at a time and make a profit. I tried to do so a few times and ended up losing money or breaking even after ebay and PayPal fees. I don't know if the other seller has a good reputation and following, or if there's something underhanded happening there.

So I would say they're worth about $2.00 each. :) If one of the serial numbers was a radar (18388381) or repeater (18381838) they might be worth more.

I like to use them as tips in restaurants. That way you can lay them on the table and walk away, and you don't have to worry about responses.

They are available as a special order at any bank willing to make such an order. If you are a customer they generally won't reject you.
