Hi,

After a recent illness, I'm catching up with some coins I'm looking to submit to NGC. This one is the rare B over RITTANIAR variety, but I'm concerned over the carbon spots (?) on the reverse. Is this likely to straight grade with NGC, or get details? Obverse is fine.

Many thanks

The spots look like this one might get a "details, environmental damage" grade. Both on the leaves and the P it appears that the corrosion may have eaten into the surface.

Thanks IGE,

I haven't had anything with this graded before, so wasn't sure what the deal was. If seen some of the copper and bronze get straight grades with similar, but I can only try I suppose.

Ever without a pic of the other side I'm guessing this would not straight-grade.

Cheers frog,

Would this be something that NGC conservation be able to sort out? Does that then get a details grade afterwards?

I think this one is AU-55 details, environmental damage.
