Yes, more than a gram light-weight, but the diameter has changed as well. I think that the coin is AG-4 and could be a Dryer Coin. If not, someone worked on the edges.

an 1888 large cent had a diameter of 25.4 mm & wt of 5.67g a quarter diameter 23.62mm {post 1953} & weight 4.4g post 2000 ....perhaps an attempt to substitute use in a vending machine ?
