Ciao everybody, just to show a coin that shows an evident doubling on the legends (most on AMERICA) and on the mint mark. I think it is always nice to find imperfections on gold coins, also if in this case it is not a real error. What do you think? Do you know any other coin of same/different date with same Machine Doubling?

The S mintmark though is probably from a hit as the mintmarks were added by hand to the dies.

You never stop learning! I didn't know about "Longacre Doubling". It's really very interesting when you go into detail about the production techniques, in the various eras of minting.
