Yeah, I'm curious too. Since most banks don't want any. I wonder if the Mint would have "packaged more two roll Sets". Will they "package enough to meet the demands of collectors ?".....or will they stick to a "limited number ?" I also wonder if this years Lincoln Cent (3rd or 4th design) is due to have it's mintage numbers drastically cut like other denominations are supposedly going to. For those folks who "completely missed the boat" on these four designs at the end of the year or next year, or even those who are just "new to the game" at that time, I'm still really curious what kinds of market values will be put on a "complete Set".....(a P&D roll of each design) .... ( of course with the Mint wrappers ! .... not the Stringer rolls with mixed Lincolns in there !)

Eaglefoot, a complete set of these rolls will be the same as the sum of the parts. Or less.

$1.00 per two roll Set ? ..... $4.00 for an entire year 4 design P & D Compete Set ? ... This is your prediction......or just what you'd be willing to pay for them now and at any time in the future as a buyer ? Well.......now THAT would be appalling !.......Say it ain't so Steve ! I would hope that there would be "some" kind of premium on these......with the Mint wrappers holding a little more than the Stringer rolls. Ahem......Ahem.....In 48 years from today.......there will be 184,371,439 new people added to our current population level in this United States of America........out of that......we will have 40% of them being new coin collectors.........out of that 40% pool.......100% of those will be AVID Lincoln Cent collectors ! ......that's MY prediction ! And "they" are going to put a premium (of some level) on my unopened well preserved U.S. Mint wrapped two roll Sets for this year !

No. Yesterday someone said: Quote:
Eaglefoot, based on two rolls for $100.00 right now, all four versions would be roughly $400.00 and I'm betting that the premium for a complete set will push it over $1000.00. There would be no premium on a complete set. If all eight rolls could be purchased for a total of $400 (purchased individually), why in the world would someone pay $1000 for a complete set of them? Unless they are a fool, or incredibly lazy.

Probably not a good idea to post your confirmation number on the site. The mint site suggested not disclosing that to anyone!

Steve....Ahhh.....I get what you meant now !...... I was just assuming that he meant......if the value is $100.00 per two roll set now, then he figures a "future" premium prediction of $1,000.00. Not buying them at $400.00 and selling them the next day for $1,000.00. And yesterday, I pointed out that the "$100.00" value has been reported to have fallen to about $40.00 per two roll set now anyway.... But, I see now what "both" of you were meaning.......

I am not sure where the $40.00 figure is coming from. I checked yesterday on ebay and all the sets near end of auction were OVER $60.00 a set. Those that got the round 2 sets and are missing the round 1 sets will be bidding them up for a while. My guess is that you could sell set 1 for $70-$100 now and buy them back at $25.00-$45.00 in a month. Just my guess.

I think Steve has it right. In the real market, the "lazy person" is the one selling the sets. If one is too lazy to sell them separately, then they will see less profit. Complete sets will sell for less than the total when sold individually. This has been a "rule" in coin collecting for as long as I can remember.

I think the "completed set" value will come with selling a set of all four individual coins. Most collectors of "pennies" don't collect rolls and are not interested in them. However, they will be interested in buying all four together as a set to make collecting easier. I suspect these will sell for a slight premium.
Another set to consider is a stamped and cancelled set. That is, a roll from each release event authenticated with a stamp and the local city PO postmark. These will carry a premium because they are difficult and expensive to obtain.

You are absolutely right BadThad. (And due to release event attendance, I believe your collection of these is half way complete now, as is mine.)
