You need to know the currency before you can use "denomination" This is particularly pertinent for older non-decimal currencies such as roman and greek coins etc where a particular denomination doesn't have a set face value. A lot of currencies are unknown. Fun times ahead.  |

Here's a reply I got from the Numista referee for Iran when I tried to add a denomination for some "standard circulation coins" coins with "falus" in the coin title but no face value listed. Quote:
I've gone through all of these and changed the denomination to "Unspecified" and switched the Coin type to "Local". Thanks for flagging this! This was a couple of weeks ago, before they changed the search page.  Edited by MachinMachinMan
