I know only one coin per post BUT hear me out lol. I have 2 pennies, both 1982, both Denver mint, both large date and BOTH weigh different. Oh and both have misaligned die...i swesr its not the same coi ! LOl I've tried doing research I'm just more confused! One weighs 3.1 grams and the other 2.5 grams. One is an error coin correct? I think it's the one that 2.5.g right? Help lol

There were 7 different designs for that year.

The one that weighs 3.1 is copper while the other one that weighs 2.6 grams is copper plated zinc. The one to look for is the 1982 Denver copper Small Date cent. https://www.numismaticnews.net/worl...t-discovered

SEVEN?!?! Daaaang that's crazy!! Yeah ì have few small date ones but not right weight unfortunately..... so nothing valuable just regular coins. Good to know, good to know lol thank you!!

As stated above 1982 was the transition year from copper to the dreaded, copper coated zinc coins.
And the '82-D small date, copper would be quite a payout if'n ya found one.
