I would note that the coin appears to have been damaged on the reverse at "S OF" unless this is a lamination peel. Seeker_101 Pillar of the Community United States 1791 Posts	Posted 11/14/2024 1:40 pm Again thank you all for your opinions. In the auction I was able to zoom in on that area between the S and OF. My impression is that something was in contact with the coin and probably rusty. There is a very slight indent there. Might have been under/on top of a square nail. Who knows. lol Anyway, this coin is now mine and will look at it closely when I have it in hand. My sights are now set on 2 low grade 1804 Half Cents - 2 different auctions and 2 different varieties. Seeker_101 Pillar of the Community United States 1791 Posts	Posted 11/19/2024 12:29 am The coin is actually darker than the auction pics show - kind of coffee colored. That area that is a different color appears to be less toned, like something was laying on it or maybe a stain. Its actually less noticeable with the coin in hand. I put it in acetone for a minute to try to remove that black and its green underneath. Report this Post to the Staff
