While searching a BU box of 2024 D LMC's I came across the attached 6 coins, in several different rolls. It appears to me that what was being struck through was moving across the die... It had to be a piece of wire or something of substance in order to stand up to the forces in the chamber. These are highly reflective, uncirculated mint state and B&W provided for the best images. I'm interested you your thoughts. Also, might be an interesting one for Mike Diamond to review. "We are all flawed, some MD and some PMD." The last two closeup do appear to be the same item but in a slightly different location. Neat. Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups. I imagine that they could all be unique bits of debris that contaminated a hopper of planchets or floated into the machinery due to static electricity. Report this Post to the Staff

That and the same length and width is how I knew it was a strike through of something moving around in the chamber. If I found one of these by itself I would have given it a 2nd thought.
