I have this coin it looks like the top layer is missing. Makes Jefferson look like a skeleton. Is the an annealing problem? To my experts.thank you in advance.

There are no layers in a nickel.
It's solid cupro-nickel
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...

It's normal. Just a circulated Jefferson nickel with toning.

Looks rather normal here. You could always weigh it on a 0.00 scale to see if something is off.
