A friend of mine had his father pass away & leave him several bundles exactly like you described. I looked through them & found 2 replacements but other than that- they were all "regular run-of-the-mill" prefixes (with no special #). I couldn't offer him more than a $1.00 or $2.00 above Face Value (premium) & hoped he'd decline (which he did).
The Book Value (BV) is $5.00 to $8.00 (reg UNC to Gem UNC) but I've never seen a dealer charge BV for these (always considerably less, unless on planet ebay). Consecutive # is just the way they were # & released (there's no premium for consecutive # but typically a discount in fact, b/c most buyers expect a discount on a run of notes).
The problem with the last Birds Series $2.00 is that over a billion were issued (& too many bundles hoarded like you described). We just see UNC examples everywhere & so many radars and tougher prefixes go for a song. Nobody wants a regular prefix after collecting for a bit.
My friend later confessed that he asked a dealer what his dad's collection was worth & the guy said he'd pass on all his bundles (& this included 100X regular Birds $5.00; 100 or more regular 1973 $1.00, 50-100 $1974 $2.00 & 20-50 Journey $5.00/$10.00 notes). All of the notes were UNC but they were roughly handled (so many notes would be considered AU). I was actually relieved he didn't want me to buy them as I couldn't buy them for a price he'd expect & sell them for any type of profit (& so many had edge damage & issues). They're just really tough to sell & BV is wishful thinking IMO.
You could see what sellers list them on ebay for & try your luck there but remember that you will be charged a seller's fee (mine was about 30% of the final sale last time I tried ebay about 5 years ago). This is one of the reasons ebay has gotten so expensive over the past few years.
Good luck &
to CCF!
