I have several Lincoln wheat pennys but only one is off color and off weight. Can anyone explain both in one coin? I see a lot of people say it's just worn but both in one coin seems odd.

Copper pennies turn brown because of a chemical reaction called oxidation, where the copper in the penny reacts with oxygen in the air, forming a layer of copper oxide which appears brownish in color; essentially, it's like a "rust" on the copper surface, although the term "rust" is typically used for iron oxide.

Regarding the weight of 2.95g, that is just a little bit low for mint tolerances. Not enough to raise a concern.
Color is normal for copper (I'm referring to the one darker cent in pic) to vary from light to dark as stated above.
