I knocked my whole container of pennies, the container that those little orange puff balls come in it was 3/4 full of pennies

If I had a possible $30,000 cent I wouldn't be doing anything else besides looking for it.

Sent off to who? How much did that cost you? I'm sure a $10 "0.00" scale would have been cheaper to check your cent first. An inexpensive "0.0" scale could register 3.0g if you have a planchet heavier than 2.5g as the scale could only register in .5g increments. A copper plated zinc cent has a tolerance of 2.4g to 2.6g.

I believe it to be a zinc plated cent. Look at the rim on the obverse above the letter E. Notice how the rim is raised and then flattens out? Zinc cents are notorious for that trait on the rim. They flatten easily

BTW- Another way to weigh a coin is to use "grain" mode and then convert that into grams to hundredths of a gram.

Well it came back and it weighed 2.9 grams. It was a nice feeling when I thought I finally found something worth while, maybe the new one I post today may be worth something

Thanks for sharing. That was pretty quick.
That is still a very interesting find and is 16% over weight.
Which service did you send it to?
How about an image if the slab?
