Here's a fun one - listed as DDR-001 at VV, and as a WRPM-006 over at Wexler's. Wexler's mentions the DDR as WDDR-006, but does not seem to have a DD page for the '63D Franklin. None of the five RPMS for the '63D over at VV seem to match. Plus the DDR has kind of a mechanical air about it, to the untrained eye, but if I have one and there are at least two others out there... Whatever, a very bold error of one sort or another, I like it.

I'm pretty sure what you're seeing is Machine Doubling unfortunately.

So those two documented error coins that share this doubling are not there for that, but some other error? Seems like one might wish for a example coin that displayed the target error without such a distracting overlay.

Yes, this looks like MD to me also. I am of the opinion that VV (and others) sometimes get overzealous and get it wrong..
