Hell I'm kmichener22 from the US. I recently
inherited my grandmother's coin hoard/collection. It includes a wide variety of denomination and years. Pennies range from 1910 wheat on up to about 2015. This is one place I've found myself severely overwhelmed in. The ammount of errors, and what to call them. Tying to find the value in it all other than having it feel like I'm going through old coins with my grandmother seems like a fruitless effort. Where do you start to draw the line or find out information? Best was I know is to ask people that have been in my situation and asked the same questions. She also left me a book of dimes from 1946-69
My collection also included 10
Morgan dollars and
Peace dollars I
inherited from my other grandmother and one which I bought recently.
Quarters from 1936-64, a roll and a half
Mercury dimes- 7, many 1945s, a 27,41,43,44
One 1838
Half Dime.
And a lot of change in times and nickels.
I hope that I have introduced myself properly and hope to learn more about the minting process itself, along with the types of errors and how to properly try and grade my coin so I don't send in a $0.02 penny to get graded :D
Sincerely,
Kmichener22
