So I stopped off at the local bank this morning to make a deposit and I asked the teller about rolls of the 2009 Log Cabin cents. She gave me 6 shotgun rolls (the brown wrapper type with both ends curled in). There's a 2009 cent on each end. But is there any way to know for sure if it's a solid roll of '09 cents without opening them up?

No way to know for sure but given that it is a new release the odds are in your favor that they are all 2009s Every roll I've opened has all 2009s (Just my experience)

Why wouldn't they be? I have NEVER seen actual proof that ANY new coin has been intentionally mixed by the rollers (Brinks, etc.) with old coin. They buy a Ballistic Bag of new coin when they need it, and roll it until it is gone. Why would they mix it? It certainly isn't just to tick off the collectors, and there is no financial reason for them to do it. If you get a bank roll with some 'new' and some old coins, the new coins were already in circulation, and came back to the bank just like any other coin.

Most likely they are all 09's, but I have ran into a few cases where they were mixed. This usually happens when they add a new batch of coins to the rolling machine. There is always some odd numbers left over and there are a few rolls that get mixed out of every batch when they deal with two different years of coins. I see this most in Half dollars
