Hey everyone! New here. Came across a potentially interesting $1 bill that brought me here.

So, I was recently asked to sort my dad's change collection for him, consisting of bills and coins from his day-to-day normal spending. Nothing crazy.

One $1 bill stuck out to me, though, as it had a strikingly more white tint to it than the normal yellowish/greenish of the average dollar bill. This differnce was uniform across the entire front of the bill, and nearly exactly half of the back, which was an added layer of intrigue to me. I compared it to almost 300 of the other $1 bills in the mix of varying degrees of wear and age, and it's difference still stood out. Even did my own UV and flashlight tests, which i'd be happy to elaborate on if anyone wants to know, that showed some more notable differences than normal bills of the same and different years.

I did as much research as I could and found that these differences in this bill could possibly be due to defects in the paper, and really I'm just wondering if anyone has some more experienced insight into defects of this nature. I'd really appreciate it! ChatGPT can only help me so much..

In order to help you, a clear photo of both sides of the bill is required
otherwise we would just be guessing.

We will gladly help you, but we will need images first. We are locking this topic to prevent posts with "We need images". You will get many more quality responses when there are quality images in the first post of a topic. Please start a new topic when you are able to upload pictures. If needed you can use the testing forum. Tutorials are below.

Note: When you start a new topic this one may be removed. So don't panic if you get an email that your topic was removed it's only this one.

PC: We highly recommend IrfanView. (Download) (Irfanview Tutorial)

Apple Computers: Tutorial here: http://goccf.com/t/466343

Cell Phones (iPhone or Android): First, do not upload cell phone pictures of screens. They are terrible. Please check your camera settings are set to Medium quality. If it uses compression use 70%, it's perfectly fine for the internet. For file type please use WEBP if your phone has it, otherwise JPG. Avoid PNG and GIF, they are horrible choices. Be sure to crop the image to only show the coin. This is a great setup for cell phones.
