Just received my grades on four coins I submitted to NGC. Overall reaction is neutral. Really disappointed in one and as expected on the other three. Turnaround said 10 days but took 16 business days upon receipt at their facility. I had actually submitted these at the FUN show. Thought I would share you get your thoughts before I reveal the assigned grades. Here is the Bust Quarter Edited by Buffalo78 02/05/2025 05:49 am

I'd go VF20. Overall nice looking CBQ.

That is a pleaser! Nice sharp Mid grade . If this isn't at least VF 20 straight grade , I would be Unhappy!

Lovely VF-25. They are generally liberal on this series as long as the coin is choice.

I hope they didn't detail it for the cleaning. It's clearly a VF level coin. May have been netted to F15. As mentioned above these Bust quarters are often treated liberally on old cleanings. The problem I see is 1/2 of the reverse is cleaned the other 1/2 isn't.

You folks pretty much nailed this one. I had it at F-15 to VF-20. The photos I am sharing are from NGC as these are in route back to me. I did notice that all the photos are very bright. This coin is much darker in hand and has a very nice patina. As one person noticed there is a slight two-tone on the reverse, likely from a long ago light cleaning. I expected this to not get a details grade based on what I have seen out there in the market. Overall pleased with the result on this one. I feel grading was a good choice for this one as it reinforces the grade and only helps on the value on this one. This was actually one of my better pick-ups over the years. Got it at a local coin auction for around $60 maybe 3-4 years ago. I don't think the crowd was paying attention or thought it was a half (still would have been a decent value.)

That is an excellent result. If your local coin shop had it priced at $60 it looks like someone left a zero off the end! :)
