First of all if I'm wrong about this 2004 p nickle having missing clad, no need to tear into me. I added the ? In the title cuz I'm not 100% it is. But if I'm right (highly unlikely folks!) Then yes it is.....maybe....UGH I know coins that are black in appearance are due to environment but the brown color on this one has me questioning if I'm correct or not.... so? Am I gonna be 2 for 2 today?
For the record, short and sweet: Post-1983 cents are copper plated over solid zinc. Nickels are solid cupronickel. Dimes, quarters, halves are cupronickel clad over a copper core. Dollar coins are maganese brass clad over a copper core.
