Have you done anything different with your collection? Displayed them in a nicer way then just the 'beauty boxes'. I'd like to see some ideas instead of just leaving mine in a drawer or cabinet. Show us what you've done.

1st example... A friend of mine took up wood working with lasers and CNC. He gave me this for my 'Great Lakes Coins'.

Nice looking - are the plastic capsules inset at or below surface level?

I bought these coin drill bits years ago and they are from the 1ct to the 2 dollar coin. Always had plans to do coin projects with them. These bits will recess the coin perfectly. That Great Lake project is a great example of what can be done with coins. I have many ideas but haven't gotten to them yet. Good topic!!

@Dcadon: Very nice! Impressive display! How big is it?

Is the wood sealed to prevent outgassing?

I don't have anything so creative for my collection of SDs. I just keep them in Lighthouse Coin Box Trays. Here's a low-quality image of one of the trays:

#Marve65 asked 'are the great lakes coins surface mount...."

No, they are inset with their plastic capsules complete. I just used a spot of 'blue tack - sticky stuff to hold them in place, to make them easily removeable.

#Commens - "how big is it" = It's mounted on former 'Church pew' Oak wood and measures about 14" in diameter. Being already 'aged over 100 years - I'm not too concerned about the wood changing any more, however there is a light varathane coating

@Dcadon: Thanks for the additional information! Definitely an attractive display!
