Before the pics load, please go out and get yourself a coffee. It's going to take a while to load...Remember these?

These were old Hungarian forint notes issued during the single party (well, more like communist, but they didn't call it that!) regime before the 1990s. These were set to expire on 31 Dec 2009, and because they were all EF-VF notes that still had a good $20 in face value, I sent them back the the MNB/Central Bank of Hungary to get them exchanged.
And a month later, a registered letter came.

And inside was a set! I requested that they send me 1x2000, 1x1000, 2x500 and 1x200 (I had an old one) and they sent it to me! What an excellent service! During the exchange the head of currency exchange even asked me what series I would have liked (there were 2, one just released with the EURion constellation and one without). I can't express enough gratitude to the MNB and the head of exchange for helping me!
And here's the notes. The 1000ft with the new hologram strip and EURion constellation and 500ft with the EURion constellation were just released less than a month ago.
