I recently bought a few rolls from the mint, but none have been as rough as these quarters. I know quater are sorted in bunches & can have some damage from them hitting each other, but this looks insane. Need help Identifying these errors/damage.
Great to be here, I used to collect coins when I was in my teens, but lost mu collection when we moved. But the wife got me back into it & I am enjoying it again. I will asking a lot of questions as there are quite a few different things. But hav discovered some whild stuff on some coins. Trying to get a hold of my wife's steel S penny. Looks like it is a DDO on the date. I will post it soon & get your opinions on it.
I have definitely seen mint machine damage before. I had a whole roll of uncirculated 2000-P dollars, and almost every single coin was shredded on the same star. That press must have been scraping every coin that it ejected in exactly the same place. It was quite frustrating to realize that the whole pristine roll was all coins with post-strike damage.
Well at least you are seeing some Cruz quarters which is more than I can say. Here on the East Coast I have yet to find ant Cruz or Zitkala quarters in circulation. Happy hunting!
