Hello everyone! Blessings to all!! Cheers!!

EDIT: Just wanted to explain my username.

One of the most horrifying experiences of my life was viewing coins with powerful magnifying glasses for coins & jewelry.

When you see a dirty coin with the naked eye, it just looks like a dirty coin and nothing more. But when you magnify the coin, that stuff is horrific.

I don't know what that stuff is.

I've heard coin YouTube channels refer to it as clay.

Whatever it is, its gross.

It looks like they have ecosystems growing and thriving on the "clay", with hair like fibers growing out of them.

I use a toothpick to scrape it off.

Putting the coin in hot water helps remove it as well.

I know cleaning coins can ruin the value of the coin.

I found internet documentation that hot water won't damage the coin.

I only use this hot water method on coins that I determined were spenders.

My conscious won't let me put those nasty coins back into circulation without making some attempt to clean them.
