Perhaps that's an unreasonable grade, but here's how he defines VF from XF: Quote: A VF coin will have a full headband (or ribbon) by LIBERTY, but the ribbon end with the diamond detail will be connected to the lower hair curl. A basic XF coin will haver the lower hair curl clearly separated from the ribbon end. Your coin looks like one where the second 8 used a broken punch. However, the date position doesn't match anything in Snow's guide. It could be a new one, and Rick Snow could take a look and confirm (for a small fee).
