The Birmingham Mint had the contract to provide medals to the finishers and officials of the London Marathon from 1983 to 1995. Attached is a part of an article from The Mint News announcing the contract.



The following are photos of the medals awarded in 1983 and 1984




I just acquired this piece that is a mule of the above two pieces. It is an unfinished piece as the loop has not been completed.
