Hi

I'm a new member from the UK.

I have acquired my first silver 3 Cent coin and I'm unsure whether it is a fake or a genuine coin. The things that make me question it's authenticity are it's overall condition, how shiny it is and how little wear is on the coin.

The vast majority of the other 3 Cent coins I have seen for sale aren't as bright and have a lot more wear.

My coin does have some wear on closer inspection. There is a hole punched in the coin and a loop has been soldered to the top of it so it can be worn as a pendant. Someone has also scratched the numbers 1 & 2 into one side of the coin.

If the coin is genuine I can only presume that it had little circulation before being converted into a pendant and put away.

Many thanks

to the CCF, Norfolkne.
Your coin looks genuine, but with all of the issues it doesn't have much value. Were it mine, I would put it on my keychain or perhaps a necklace.

Aside from a big scratch, that coin has about everything wrong you can do to a coin. But it looks real

I believe it is genuine! Perhaps a whizzing or polish would explain the bright color.

Kind of a shame, it was in XF or even AU before all the "stuff" happened to it.

To CCF! Looks genuine to me. Probably not worth much, but still a cool piece.
