New member made in Montana and circulated to Florence, Alabama.

I have a couple of coins id really be appreciative of if someone can help me figure out whats going on with coins as they have errors and I'm not sure what they'd be labeled as without sending them in. All help is greatly appreciated. I'll start by just asking about the one..
It's a 1947 Jefferson nickel minted in San Francisco, but the coin weighs 4 grams exactly and has what seems like a lamination error/clamshell error or what might also be a alloy error.

It has this kind of frosted look that the camera won't pick up for some reason, almost like the way a rock would look with small and/or minut pockets and uneven surfaces.

to the CCF, spiritofecstacy!
Your coin has the look of one that has been subjected to an acidic environment. They usually have that weathered / pitted look and weigh less than normal. I'll wager that it is ever so slightly smaller in diameter that a normal nickel.

With a loss of 1 gram from the expected 5 grams for these nickels, I would go and say that it was dipped into acid for a while.

To CCF! Just an acid damaged nickel. The light weight and pitted edges gives it away. Just PMD. Don't send it in for grading.
