Recently, over in the "Post Your..." Gallery threads area, I started a thread on coins and medals with "Bad History." It is a thread meant to showcase coins and medals whose issue date does not represent a milestone anniversary for the subject or whose theme presents a fabricated history in order to play to popular misconceptions and thereby sell coins/raise money.

Here are links to those issues I presented:

- 1921 Alabama Statehood Centennial
- 1921 Missouri Statehood Centennial
- 1934-38 Texas Independence Centennial
- 1935-39 Arkansas Statehood Centennial
- 1935 Connecticut Tercentenary
- 1935 Old Spanish Trail 400th Anniversary
- 1936 Cincinnati Music Center 50th Anniversary
- [1936 Landing of the Swedes at Delaware Tercentenary
- 1936 Elgin, Illinois Centennial
- 1936 Battle of Gettysburg 75th Anniversary
- 1936 York County, ME Tercentenary

For other of my posts about commemorative coins and medals, including other indices to "Post Your..." Galleries, see: Commems Collection.

Indeed a fine listing that includes several of the most notorious grifters of the classic commemorative era.
Take a look at my other hobby ... https://www.jk-dk.art
Too many hobbies .... too much work .... not enough time.
