Hi Coin Friends, Well, I went to the big show at Albuquerque yesterday; It was probably the largest show they have ever had. The Elegante Hotel- was booked solid, Every inch of space was taken in the show rooms- All the wings had bourswe tables. (not a single parking place-at the hotel.- I mean the place was buzzing. Ok-the dealers are not displaying gold bullion- At a time like this- when there is a bull market- they hide their Bullion _coins like Gold Sovereigns (I was looking for these- None available) No other like French or swiss Francs or Mexican Pesos available- What they did do is bring out their early high privced gold dollars, 2 1/2's and a few quarter eagles, half eagle indians at very high prices. There was much much silver moving. All the dealers that had binders A-Z were doing a brisk brisk business. Type coins were moving well. I was happy to see the paper money dealers were crying -(shame on me!) But I have never believed that paper money has a place with true blue numismatics-Coin collectors- I mean. People are finally waking up. This paper money will not appreciate like gold and silver will. It is already from my own observation at this show losing it's appeal. (I could be wrong- but don't think so) everyone, I mean even the kids (teen ager's are talking GOLD. All in all, it was a very good show- originally to be 77 tables- but when they used up much of the dining space and other wings- there must have been a 100. It was difficult to get to the bourse tables because of others in front of you. I have been to a lot of shows- But *I don't think I have ever seen such frenzied activity. I got what I went for except King ED Sovereigns-or Mexican 10 Pesos. Everyone (dealers) at the show believe gold will continue to rise- One dealer told me he would buy Gold Sovereigns and 1/2 sovereigns by the roll. (Well go across the pond), Our cousins have them- but the British pound is- Guess that is about it. Probably haven't given you much that you didn't already know.- Think I will stick with my online dealer- They have never back-ordered me-and besides, parking is not a problem. For all our down-under friends, you will be happy to know, Australian coins were going well so far as I could see.- I found one of the wartime Ram shillings I was looking for. Enough-- etc etc; Dewey
