Odd-US-Styled-Coins,-What-Are-They?

I have several different coins and don't know what they are. This one pictured is larger than a quarter but smaller than a half. It's gold colored. I also have one that is exactly the same design but silver colored. I have a handful more like this with different designs. Actually alot of them have the flying eagle design on one side but something different on the other. Some don't have the stars around the eagle. Any ideas?

Don't know what it is but it is definitely not a coin. I have seen some bullion rounds with a similar design but they had the fineness and quantity listed(1 troy ounce .999)and they were not gold colored. Based on your size description, yours cannot possibly be one ounce of silver and I doubt that it could even be a half ounce round since it is even smaller than a half dollar.

I forgot to mention, the coin has T Johnson written on it on the (back?) eagle side. I don't have the coin with me but from the picture it looks like a copyright symbol before the name and either 1870 or 1970 after the name. When I get home I'll check what it sats exactly.

If something is bullion based does it have to say it on the object? I wondering about the other coins I have.

Well, it should because if it's not, then people won't pay bullion for it.

It would always say .999 somewhere if it were bullion.Best to use a search engine with the makers name, you'll find it easy enough.
Looks like a political type token , probably copper alloy of some kind , they were doing the rounds prior to the election.

This came from a box of tokens and medals I received about 5 years ago. It was part of a coin collection. Most of the stuff in the box was bicentenial designs, some early 80's items too. I just wonder about a few designs where they are exactly the same but different colors (silver, gold, sometimes a copper one also).

Worth getting a picture , read the edges of the tokens also.Sometimes issues were made in various metals , absolutley could be silver or gold.It will tell you right there on it though always.

Glad to help General.Good luck , I do know some are struck in silver as I have some as well. These went for silly money for a short period than settled down, probably quite collectable.
