Start keeping you Philippine coins as one day these will will very rare

The 10 pesos bimetal year 2000 is scarce for its low mintage and it might end up becoming rare becase of rumours among the masses that it has gold and people are melting it to make wedding rings.

I'm always a little surprized at anyone that mentions those laws about melting coins. Remember that murder, rape, robbery, etc are also against the law. For some odd reason, in spite of the law, those things continue to happen. Then of course there are a few other laws on the books that are sort of overlooked that are almost as important as melting coins. Why right here in Chicago they are thinking about passing a law against drive by shootings so that should stop that.
How about the law about using a cell phone while driving? Yeah, right.
In this area melting of coins has been a constant happening and right in front of anyone that wants to see it. Metal scrappers take coins to the metal recylers all the time along with wires stolen from poles, houses, factories, etc and that is too against the law.
Sorry for this attitude but I live in an area where you can't afford to even get a coin magazine in a mail box or the house would be robbed the next day so melting of coins is of small concern to many.
