PCGS Variety Example Image Errors - Coin Community Forum

PlutonianFire Valued Member United States 120 Posts	Posted 07/18/2025 3:18 pm While reviewing online photo examples of 1942-P Lincoln Cent DDO FS-102 provided by PCGS, two of the coins that I clicked on actually looked like 1942-P Lincoln Cent DDO FS-101. The coins were attributed by PCGS as: 1. Lincoln Cent (Wheat Reverse), 1942 1C DDO FS-102, BN, PCGS VF25BN 2. Lincoln Cent (Wheat Reverse), 1942 1C DDO FS-102, BN, PCGS XF40BN URL Link: https://www.pcgs.com/coinfacts/coin...102-bn/37790 Please see the marked doubling of both the eye and the "1" in the date for each of these coins. Brandmeister Pillar of the Community United States 6519 Posts	Posted 07/18/2025 9:32 pm If you are using PCGS images as a variety reference, you will first need to confirm the pictured variety using the proper source (Variety Vista, Wexler, BVC, Copper Coins, etc.).
