I recently made 4 trips to different banks in Philly Suburbs and got $25 each time in penny rolls. They were in $25 Brinks boxes. Here are the results: Only dates listed are other than 1940's and 1950's Wheats
Box 1 (2,500 coins) 38 Wheats/3 Canadians. Dates 1910-P, 1937-P(2), 1938-P
Box 2 (2,500 coins) 14 Wheats/5 Canadians Dates 1928-P, 1937-P
Box 3 (2,500 coins) 9 Wheats/5 Canadians Dates all 1940's-1950's
Box 4 (2,500 coins) 18 Wheats/6 Canadians Dates all 1940's-1950's (2) Log Cabin cents and (1) 1984 Bahamas Cent
So total of 79 Wheats (1 every 127), 19 Canadian.
So those Wheaties are still out there!

Did you pull out the coppers too or just redeposited them?

No I only pull out Wheats and Canadians and redeposit them. Hard enough checking the reverses, never mind dates.
I have been looking for Wheats since 1976---I've got close to 15,000 all from circulation!
(I know, I'm NUTS)

So how do you deposit them? Do you roll them back up or just give them a big sack?

My bank has a coin counting machine...just dump big sacks in and they take care of it. Much better than "old" days when I would reroll everything and make sure 50 to a roll.
Luckily there are pleny of this banks branches around, so I hit 4 for coins and bring back 10,000 at 5th branch. TD Bank used to be Commerce Bank.
I don't want them giving me a hard time about doing this !

I'm sorely tempted to get a bank box after reading posts like this.
What's holding me back is that I'm not going to crack and use Coinstar, and I'm not sure that I want to go thru rolling them back up and taking them to a different bank.

Desert Rat,
Welcome to the forum.
Not every bank requires the coins to be rolled. Some banks want them in a plastic coin bag; they simply send them off to be counted and deposited to your account. And they may not even charge you for it. It is worth asking your bank how they operate in that regard.

Steve,
I wasn't aware of that....thanks! I'll ask my bank what the policy is the next time I'm there.
I probably wouldn't be returning the whole box all at once. When I do roll searches, it's one or two at a time. I make a conscious effort to spend what I don't keep, so I'm used to returning 50 pennies to circulation per week. But if my bank will take them back loose, it's going to change how many rolls I acquire in one visit.
