Hi guys I got an 1870 Indian Head cent, the weight is 3.11g. I would like to know if its genuine, thoughts and opinions welcome also in regard to grading, thanks.

Looks legit to me with the bold N variety reverse. I'd call it high VF to low XF. Perhaps a $400 coin if it straight grades. There are 27 varieties for this date so do your research to see if you can narrow it down. Unsure if the marks on the reverse are enough to details it. Lets see what other members have to say.

Looks genuine to me. Agree with high VF grade. Liberty is very bold so might go XF.

Would I be correct to label this cent as RB "red brown". I have noticed grading companies commenting on colour of us cents. RD, RB etc. What's the most desirable colour sought after by collectors?

The red , red brown and brown designations are typically reserved for uncirculated coin and in some cases for AU coins. Your coin is circulated and the designation doesn't apply however the first set of pictures looks brown.
