Help Needed With Kahavanu Attribution (Chola Dynasty?)

daltonista Pillar of the Community United States 1058 Posts	Posted 08/20/2025 10:37 am This is the only coin from Ceylon I've ever owned that pre-dates the Rixdollar era, so I have nothing for comparison. It came to me 30-40 years ago as part of a large group of mixed British Asia material that included fanams, Colpetty, Carey Strachan, Wekande Mills, etc. I don't have access to a Mitchiner, but this Numista page has brought me pretty close, I think, with photos and basic stats for two Chola Dynasty Massa coins identified as Mitchiner 732 and 738, respectively. These have enabled me to determine which way is up, at least! I can confirm that the diameter of my coin is 19mm and it weighs 3.8 grams.
