I am thinking about collecting all the silver State Quarters and district quarters. How should approach this? Anyone has done this?

Should I buy prood set and break apart?
Should I buy them individully or by year?

Your comments and suggestions are appreciated.

I don't know that there is a "cheap" way to collect all the State Quarter series in silver. The 1999s alone will cost close to $200.

If it were me I'd buy the 1999s individually and silver proof sets from other years. Plan to spend $400 for a complete set.

This is something I've done.Loads of dealers selling individual BU or UNC Proofs ..you name it.Unc for sure tho , I got all of mine of ebay , bidding generally starts at 99c snd usually free shipping , itll come in a airtite sometimes. If your careful and patient you can put a set together cheaply , patience , once youve gotten a few for 3 bucks and under youll get the idea.I rarely paid 5.

And please let me know where you bought them. There's more than $3 worth of silver in them.

They can sell for under 3 bucks on ebay but it does not payoff unless you can combine shipping on many of them.

Like I say in the post , ebay and patience.Be prepared to not get many more than you do win , but those you win will be your price.Eventually youll get there , I did and many others.Didnt pay anything like the suggested prices.

Thanks! Wetglasweigan. I think I got the idea.

Just did 3 coins; average $4 per coin. I think I can do better.

Your welcome Yinzi50 :)

What I used to do is look at the sellers other items , usually there will be a lot , place a lot of bids early at around $2 -$2.50 and let them run , youll be surprised 1 or 2 will slip through into your net :)
