While coin roll hunting I found this amongst the nickels. I don't know much about foreign coins, but from what I've seen the alignment of this coin should be up on both sides
This coin has a 45 degree rotation. Is this normal? Rare? Collectable?
Rare? Depends on what you're comparing it to. Comparing it to normal non-rotated 25 kurus coins, yes it's rare. Comparing it to American or Canadian rotated die errors, probably not so much. By 2020, the 25 kurus coin was quite worthless, so quality control was presumably slipping compared to back when the coin was introduced. Here's a 2017 rotated die error 25 kurus, being used to illustrate a blog post on rotated dies: https://wordpress-service.rockident...ie-rotation/
Collectable? To qualify as a "true" rotated die, the rotation needs to be more than 15 degrees, so about 45 degrees certainly qualifies. So yes, it's a "keeper" for the casual world coin or error collector, and the market value is certainly more than a standard non-error 25 kurus. How much more, you'd have to put it on ebay and find out. My best guess as to value: somewhere in the $5 to $20 range.
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis
