Hey everyone! I'm new and I have a $20 star note(EF00953136*) series 2004, will someone tell me if there anything else I need to look at other than the serial # and series what would make it worth more than the average $20? about how much would this bill sell for? I see a few on ebay what look exactly like it selling anywhere from $20-$130, but most of them never have any bids. any advice?

The 2004 F district star had a print run of 6.4 million, the second highest in 2004. Judging by the condition of your note, I would say it does not really have much of a premium. If you had a 2004 B(320,000) or a 2004 K(384,000), those two would be nice notes with low print runs.

I don't think most notes in such new series are worth a premium unless they are pristine, or they have a very nice serial number to go with it.

FW is Forth Worth, the other BEP facility with the primary being in DC. I have no idea what the "B 79" means. For the district, look at the serial number- the district will be the letter directly to the left(F= Atlanta)

The link that I provided has some in-depth in formation regarding the "decoding" of serial numbers.

"B 79" means.

I think it's a printing plate reference number.

The "B" is just a check letter that corresponds with the small letter and number on the left side of the note. This small number and letter on the left side is the position of the note on the sheet which it was cut from.

The "79" means it was printed from the 79th plate used for Series 2004 $20 bills at Fort Worth (FW).
