I may have overlooked this coin in my album that had that mint state red 1955 poor man's doubled die cent.

I at first believed this was a simple scratch, but when I looked closer, it came to me that this looked more consistent with a struck thru some small wire as it was plenty curved and not consistent with a normal scratch.

Now to get others ideas

And now for the whole coin...

Are you sure that it's not hair on the coin?

No, definitely confirmed not a hair, and I would have no need of this post if it was a hair. It is far more possible that it was a small wire that was adhered to the reverse die somehow and struck thru into the coin.

Could very well be...
I may need another closeup shot.

Good pics. Struck through something. Obviously not thin enough for a hair but wire or string is a possibility.
