In the past, when someone had an item to identify, I would "copy image address" and paste it into Google Lens. However, when I tried it today I got the following error message: I tried with an image link from a different thread with the same results. This was easier than saving the image and uploading it to Lens, but at least it can still be done. Help us, bobby-wan-kenobi. You are our only hope. Did you try restarting your computer. May just need to reset the google search.

It works with links from other sites. And for once it's not a problem with my computer!

I suppose it's because Google is not human.

Quote: I suppose it's because Google is not human More specifically it's because this site is now using cloudflare. You will need to download the image and then reupload to google instead of feeding the link.

I hadn't tried Google Lens (that I can recall) so I'm not very confident, but have you tried using "copy image" and then pasting directly, without explicitly saving in the middle? It works for me with Google image search.
EDIT: turns out Google Lens is what they renamed the image search to, so yeah, that works. Just tested with the image from this thread. Might be browser-dependent, though (I'm using Firefox).

Quote: I suppose it's because Google is not human Good place to start, if that's the case, I can fix it. I just have to find the user agent for Google Lens. I'm on it.

All the user agents are allowed so that's not it.
I'll still investigate. Cursory searching shows others are having this issue too.

Finally got it, should be working now. It uses a user agent that Google hasn't published anywhere.
Let me know if you have any issues.
