JimmyD Bedrock of the Community Canada 21589 Posts	Posted 09/14/2025 08:58 am A 1989 cent is not an alloy, it is a a zinc core plated with copper. What you have is a cent that has been plated after it left the mint. We see many of these on the forum and it adds no value. Report this Post to the Staff
