*** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***Hello everyone, I'm new to this hobby and I'm learning lots of new stuff but I have lots of questions to ask and I'm looking forward to learning more. I have been collecting coins in jars and cans since I was a kid and now I'm cracking open those coins and discovering lots of neat stuff. I'm especially interested in error and variety coins and I have a few that I need help with understanding what they are and what I should do with them? I appreciate all feedback, and yes it is human nature not to agree with some things but I always appreciate all feedback regardless good or bad. It's the only way we can learn from others. Thank you in advance. MrDad

@MrDad I'm sorry, but I don't see anything exceptional about this 2008 "Remembrance Poppy" quarter. What are you seeing with the yellow markings?

Hi there , I am just pointing out where the rim on the coin is very thin and almost flat compared to the bottom where it is thicker and higher , also the letters in Armistice are actually missing some of their definitions. I have more photos of this coin under a microscope but I took picture of the microscope screen and understand here that's a no no & 🤷 #8205;#9794;#65039;. Tell me what pictures would you like to see and I'll try my best to get them taken for you. I'm not sure if you are looking at the picture on you phone or computer and not sure if you can zoom in or not? I'll try to send another picture here of obverse, not same type of damage but you can see where the rim thins and thickens in different spots.

Sorry I sent the same one doh #128580; I thought I sent the reverse side first but just realized that I sent the obverse so I will try to send the reverse side now. Thanks One of the reverse and one of my microscopes pictures showing top of letters that are not fully visible

To the CCF There is nothing special about your quarter. The uneven rims are from a slight misaligned die but still within spec. Hard to tell about the lettering but it may be from a deteriorated die or a slight grease die.

To CCF! Looks pretty normal to me. JimmyD summed it up pretty well.
Errers and Varietys.

Thank you everyone for the welcome and for your help. I'm looking forward to learning more about coins from this site and appreciate your input. Cheers everyone. Ps. I see my obverse picture did not come up here so I'll post it here now and just to show you how the rims are narrow in. A couple spots and thicker on other spots. When I examined this coin side by side with another exact same coin there's a difference between them for sure, but unfortunately the pictures don't do it justice, sorry for my lack of a better picture but my camera lens has a few scratches and now doesn't take as clear of pictures now. Yellow lines show the thinner rims and arrow points to thicker rim , I've been reading up about this and from NGC they have been saying that they now recognize partial collar errors , so I'm wondering if this might be one of those? It would be a first time error for this particular coin so that would be a pretty cool discovery , wouldn't it? Thanks again for your time and input.
