I don't know how many of you collect the silver Libertad but I've been reading some strange things online about these coins. Some online vendors are stating that this will be a record breaking low mintage year with quantities in the hundreds rather than thousands or tens of thousands.
These vendors are listing projected prices at $3,900 for the 1 oz BU (300 - 500 coins minted) and $1,500 for the Reverse Proof (1,500 coins minted).
Have any of you read anything about this?

The figures that I have seen is 1900 minted for the Reverse Proof and 300 minted for the BU.
JM Bullion have them listed as $1500.00 and $3900.00.

That's one of the sites I got my info from. Provident Metals and BullionMax have similar prices. Provident Metals is owned by JM Bullion but I don't know if BullionMax is as well.

Another interesting thing is that APMEX auctioned off certified Libertads yesterday on ebay. I believe they're having more auctions tomorrow.
Some examples from yesterday:

2025 2 oz Silver Reverse Proof Libertad PR-70 PCGS (FDI) - $2,050.00
2025 1/20 oz Silver Libertad PR-70 PCGS (FDI) - $1,000.00
2025 5 oz Silver Reverse Proof Libertad PR-70 PCGS (FDI) - $2,600.00
2025 2 oz Silver Libertad PR-69 PCGS (FDI) - $1,800.00

I haven't checked the results of the auctions on the 21st.
I don't know when APMEX received the coins from the mint but it takes time to send them in for grading and then getting them back.

Rumors started about very low 2025 mintages when a dealer posted on reading room last Spring about it. I contacted the dealer a couple weeks ago. They said due to high mintages in 2023, 2024 which were not all sold and maybe production issues the Mexico mint decided to severly limit 2025 silver mintages and no gold Libertads Historically Libertad mintages have had very high years and some very low years. Until the Mexico mint releases final 2025 mintages next year it won't be certain. But it sure seems to be true. I won't pay such high prices for the 2025s. I have about 35 silver Libertads and a few gold but have no plans to get one from every year. I prefer the early Libertad years with different design and shiny cartwheel finish.

Authorized dealer I contacted:

You can find proof and gold mintages online. Here's BU silver Libertad mintages through 2024:

The gaps in my 1 oz Libertad collection are because of those very low mintage years.
But, to me, 300 to 500 coins is ridiculous.

I'm shocked as well, jbuck. Most of you have been collecting a lot longer than I have. Have any of you ever seen anything like this with a new modern silver coin?

No. I have never. And I thought ~$100 ASEs were crazy.
