Hello Everyone,

Does the 1852 Vittorio Emanuele 20 Lire gold coin have any extra numismatic value apart from just gold melt, cosidering that only 45k of these coins were made? What do the Italian coin professionals think? Thanks

Thanks.

At today's prices, this coin would be worth $700 US at spot. In the latest (2024) Gold Coins of the World, only Choice UNC would be above this at $950 US. All other grades would be less than spot.

However with gold prices so high, and so many circulating cold coins being melted, I wonder if the remaining coins will eventually be worth more as they become less available.
