Can someone clarify this for me
i read that A 1988-D Lincoln Penny will not have the "doubled ear" variety because this error only occurred on Philadelphia minted (no "D" mint mark) coins but I'm pretty sure I found one so please can someone explain if this is true and if the penny I have has a doubled ear or not

There's no doubling on the ear at all. It's a normal coin.

If you look at the attached link you can see what a 1988 variety of this type looks like. Also many different years have doubled ears but they all look different so be sure and check sites like variety vista so you can tell.
