Hilariously VLDS, this nickel reverse die has progressed through PIDT and into melting like wax. The crazy steps DDR is still visible above the NT of Monticello. Deep coppery golden toning with some blotches of color. Cherrypicked for $5.99 on ebay.
I believe this is one of the more plentiful nickel varieties. In the 1950s, the Mint seemed determined to squeeze every last drop of life out of their working dies.
