Do 18% Gray Cards Work In Axial Boxes?

Color balance is often a pain when I take iPad pictures of my coins. I noticed that my camera app has a White Balance option for a gray card. I assume that's the 18% gray card?

One of my questions is whether the gray card works with the axial box. I guess the color will work fine, but is there some reflectance factor as well?

Yes, it will work. In an axial box most of the light comes from the axial source, so it is fairly pure and very little should be coming from reflected sources.
