My first post! When did the mint start putting "VDB" on new Lincoln pennies? I do not notice it on all pennies, but have seen it on pennies from about 2005 to 2008. It is located at about 7 o'clock on the bottom of the Lincoln bust. I just noticed this about a week ago. Thanks

to the Community from a former-fellow Hoosier (Lake County).

The VDB was originally on the reverse for part of 1909 only. It was removed because people objected to the size.

It was restored to the cent in 1918, this time on the obverse and sized to be less obvious. It has been in this location ever since.
